  6. New This Season

At the end of the 2011 season, our players were asked (via an online survey) how they felt about the concept of moving teams up or down halfway through the season. For those who participated in the survey, the result was overwhelmingly in favor of making this change.

At the end of the 2011 season, the NJWPTL Board voted in favor of mid-season series adjustments for a period of 2 years beginning with the 2011-2012 season.

This year, after the first seven matches of the season are completed, the top team in each series (except series 1) will move up one series while the bottom team in each series (except series 13) will move down one series. After these changes are made, new match schedules will be created for the second half of the 2011-2012 season. At the end of the season, this process will be repeated for the top and bottom team in each series. Additionally, the Board will review and evaluate the experience of the first trial season in an effort to improve the experience for our players in the second year.

The Board is excited to implement this change in how we play but realizes that such a change will not be without its challenges. We would ask that you be supportive of your Series Leaders and Reps. We would also appreciate any constructive feedback that you think will help to improve the NJWPTL.
